BIOGRAPHY
Praised by The Dallas Morning News as "stand-out" and "rich-toned," Charlie Moore, bass-baritone, is a versatile, seasoned professional, with performances across a wide variety of genres, such as opera, oratorio, baroque, renaissance, new music, and musical theater. Charlie has concertized with Bach Akademie Charlotte, Dallas Bach Society, Verdigris Ensemble, Incarnatus, Orpheus Chamber Singers, Ars Lyrica, and Orchestra of New Spain, among others. Recent projects include a Bach Magnificat with Trinity Cathedral (Columbia), BWV 116 & 147 with Duke Chapel Bach Cantata Series, a Bach festival with Bach Akademie Charlotte, Considering Matthew Shephard with CMC Chamber Singers, a Verdigris Ensemble recording of Betty's Notebook (Reeves), the premiere of Anthony Maglione's Dust Bowl with Verdigris Ensemble, Bach St. John's with Dallas Bach Society, and a performance of Julia Wolfe's Anthracite Fields with Verdigris Ensemble and Bang on a Can Allstars.
Charlie was a staff musician for 16 years at Church of the Incarnation, Dallas. Featured on several of Incarnation's commercial recordings on the Pro Organo and Gothic labels, he also toured with the choir, singing residencies at Westminster Abbey, Canterbury Cathedral, York Minster, St. Mary's Edinburgh, Lichfield Cathedral, St. George Windsor Castle, St. Thomas 5th Ave, St. John the Divine, and the National Cathedral in DC. Mr. Moore was a featured soloist on Incarnation's April 2017 BBC 3 Choral Evensong broadcast (one of five American choirs to be featured in the program's 96-year history).
